1. Privacy Policy
Escape Barbershop ("we", "us") operates this website. We keep this simple: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell anything about you.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage data — which pages are visited, roughly how long, and which buttons get clicked. This is aggregated and not tied to your name.
- Information you type in — if you use the barber application form, we receive whatever you send us by email.
- Preferences — your accessibility settings and cookie choice are stored in your own browser and never leave your device.
What we do not collect
- We do not take payment through this website.
- We do not ask for or store your date of birth, address or any government ID.
- We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.
2. Cookies & Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies that record anonymous usage patterns. If you choose Decline on the notice at the bottom of the screen, analytics is switched off for your visit and stays off.
We also use your browser's local storage to remember your accessibility settings and your cookie choice. That data stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's settings for this site.
3. Booking & Third Parties
Appointments are handled by Booksy. When you click a Book button you leave our site, and anything you enter there is covered by Booksy's own privacy policy, not this one. We receive only the appointment details needed to cut your hair.
Other services that may load on this site:
- Google Maps — the embedded map on our Visit section.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used throughout the site.
- Google Firebase — hosting and the content behind our pages.
4. Your Rights
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or opt out of analytics at any time. Email or call us using the details in section 8 and we will respond within 30 days.
This site is intended for customers in Michigan, United States. If you are contacting us from a region with specific data protection laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, the rights described above apply to you and we will honour them.
5. Terms of Use
Content on this site — the style guide, pricing, photographs and the Escape Barbershop name and logo — belongs to Escape Barbershop. Please do not reproduce it commercially without asking.
We keep prices, hours and service information as accurate as we can, but they may change. The prices shown on our Booksy page at the time of booking are the ones that apply. Final pricing can vary with hair length and service complexity.
The style guide and the assistant on this site offer general grooming information only. They are not a substitute for a consultation with your barber, and we cannot guarantee a particular result from a photograph.
6. Shop Policies
- Cancellations — please give as much notice as you can through Booksy or by phone so we can offer the chair to someone else.
- Lateness — arriving more than 10 minutes late may mean we have to shorten or rebook your service, out of fairness to the next client.
- Not happy with your cut? Tell us within 7 days and we will put it right at no charge. We would always rather fix it than have you live with it.
- Children — under-12s are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Photos — we sometimes photograph our work for Instagram. We will always ask first, and you are free to say no.
7. Accessibility Statement
We want this site to work for everyone. It has been built toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA and includes:
- An accessibility menu (the icon at the bottom-left) with larger text, high contrast, underlined links, reduced motion and an easier-to-read font. Your choices are remembered.
- Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
- Text that meets AA contrast ratios, alt text on images, and labelled form fields.
- Respect for your device's own "reduce motion" setting.
If any part of this site is difficult to use, please call us on (586) 799-4687 — we will help you directly and fix the problem.
